How much is a Ground Source Heat Pump?
For a 160sqm house an 8kw pump and ground arrays is £4600 + VAT plus installation.
How much land is required?
For the 8kw pump you will need two trenches 40m long 2m deep and 5 meters apart.
What about VAT?
VAT is charged at 5%.
What about grants?
Grants for residential installations are currently £1200.
How do you apply for a grant?
Through the low carbon buildings programme.
Radiators or underfloor heating?
Ground Source Heat Pumps work best in conjunction with underfloor heating in well insulated buildings, radiators can be used but are not advisable.
Do heat pumps heat hot water?
Heat pumps can be configured to heat domestic hot water however it is much more efficient to use the heat pump for space heating and Solar for heating hot water.
What is the warranty period?
12 months onsite labour and parts
What is the design life of the heat pump?
25 years.
What regular servicing is required?
None.
